Miniature thrust ball bearings with grooved washers for shaft sizes from 3mm to 10mm
See product table below for dimensions and technical drawings
See Products Variants below for flat washer options
These single direction thrust bearings have a groove or raceway in each washer. These thrust bearings are designed to take axial loads only and cannot support radial loads. This type of thrust bearing is designed to take a thrust load in one direction only. One washer has an internal diameter larger by 0.2mm to allow it to clear the shaft and locate in the housing. The other washer has an outer diameter smaller by 0.2mm to clear the housing and locate on the shaft.
The washers and balls are made from chrome steel due to its high load capacity. Thrust bearings with raceways in the washers will support much higher loads and speeds than the flat washer type (see Products Variants below). The EZO brand single direction thrust bearings are supplied with an AISI-304 stainless steel cage while the SMB versions usually have a brass cage. These bearings are available from stock in the UK.
Chrome steel thrust bearings, with a brass retainer and a suitable lubricant, can be used at temperatures of 120°C constant or up to 150°C intermittent. They are not suitable for use in corrosive environments as the chrome steel washers and balls are not corrosion resistant. As a result, they are coated with a layer of preservative oil to protect against corrosion but, thanks to our in-house relubrication facility, our thrust bearings can be offered with customer specified lubricants.
Click on INFO in the rows below to display technical drawings of the bearings with load and speed data. Please note that the maximum loads and speeds are used in theoretical life calculations. It is recommended to use bearings at significantly less than the maximum load and speed ratings to ensure reasonable bearing life.
